Senior Night @ the last soccer game ~May 1st~

It may seem like our life revolves around Jess. I guess it does right now!

We've sure enjoyed being a part of this kids life!

It was nice, they had all the parents of the Senior soccer players come out on the field to celebrate these great kids and the fact that we get to be their parents!

Baylee Called Me!

On my way home from work today I could hear Baylee talking "Grampa Arlo & Mimi" (that's my ringtone for Jennie) I answered the phone and it was Baylee Ellen! She asked "What are you watching Mimi?" I told her I was watching the road and driving home in my black car. (She likes details!) She told me Boston crawls and she walks. She told me she's a big girl now. She said she will be seeing me in two months. (@ Jesse's graduation) It was a nice conversation. And, when she's done, she's done! So I called Jen back and Jennie said Baylee discovered how to call me and did it all by herself. I felt honored!!!!!

MEXICO HERE HE COMES!

Every year swing choir gets to go on tour to perform somewhere fun! Every other year they get to go somewhere BIG! Jesse's 1st year they went to San Fransisco, 2nd, Canada, now this year MEXICO! In fact they're going on a cruise. The same one Lynsie got to go on her senior year.
Last night the choir put on a farewell performance and then left at 2 this morning. They flew out of Portland to LA where they'll catch the boat and then Cruise down into Mexico.
While there, they will be doing some competition and performing. We're excited for this great group of kids.

We've Been Doing This every Sunday Night

Arlin, Jesse & I try to sit down together every Sunday evening and schedule out our week. It's been so helpful to write it all down on a white board and hang it up (by the phone) for the world to see (and those living in the home) so we don't get over-scheduled! (notice I've got mail your CD Nin) The long arrows on the side are the things that are scheduled every day ~seminary & soccer practice~ It's also good for us to talk about what we're doing and why. Plus it helps in scheduling vehicles ie: who gets to use what when and who gets to ride their bike!!!! Green is Jesse, Orange is me, Blue is Arlin.

We had to make another sign!

We've made 12 of these so far and pounded them into the Senior Soccer players yards before they got home from Unity camp at the beginning of the season. Another kid decided to join so Arlo and I whipped up another sign and are heading out to pound it into his yard. It's been fun getting to know the kids and their parents. Monday we do another session of Consession stand duty. May 1st is Senior Night. Then it will all be over! It goes by so fast.

And the Goblins Will Get You if You Don't Watch Out!

When I was young my great grandma Harris would recite poetry to me. I loved it and as soon as she was done with one I'd ask for another, and another ..... The last time I saw her I asked her to recite "Two Christmases and Little Orphan Annie", my favorites. So, when I had kids I decided to carry on the telling and memorized those two poems plus one "Katsenstein" (a dr. Seuss book) And a short one, A mouse chased my cat, now what do you think of that? Just look at her there sitting under the chair. That old scarredy cat that lives in my house, just ran away from a teeny tiny mouse! My mom believes it's true. She ran from the mouse too! Anyway, while I was in Utah I decided it was time to share with my darlings the Little Orphan Annie poem. I was a little worried cause of the part that says "And the Goblins will get you if you don't watch out!" But, when I finished, Baylee piped up "I'll watch out!" That was the greatest!!!
